2 rebels surrender in Zambales, Bataan
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales – A former member of a communist group in Zambales province surrendered to authorities recently, according to the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3).
In a report on Sunday, PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen identified the surrenderee as alias “Bal,” 70, a farmer and a resident of Barangay Buhawen in San Marcelino town.
His surrender was facilitated by the Zambales Provincial Mobile Force Company and other concerned units.
In Bataan, another rebel identified as “Ka Rona” also surrendered and turned over her .38-caliber, rifle grenade and explosives.
Pasiwen commended his troops for continuously conducting intensified tactical operations and community engagement activities to convince rebels in the region to surrender.
