MANILA, Philippines —  Cloudy skies and rain will prevail over some parts of the country on Sunday due to the effects of several weather systems, including a low-pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa.)

According to Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja in their latest forecast, the LPA was last spotted 1,710 kilometers east southeast of Mindanao outside PAR as of 3:00 a.m. in the morning.

“Sa susunod na dalawang araw, mababa ang tiyansa na ito ay maging isang bagyo subalit magsisimula na itong magpaulan ngayong araw dito sa may Eastern Mindanao,” said Estareja.

(In the next two days, there is a low chance that it will become a typhoon but it will start raining today here in Eastern Mindanao.)

Due to the LPA’s trough, cloudy skies and rain should be expected over Caraga Region, as well as Davao Oriental, while scattered rain showers will prevail over Eastern Visayas.

The rest of Mindanao and Visayas, on the other hand, will have relatively fairer weather with chances of cloudy skies and rain unrelated to the LPA.

In Luzon, slightly cloudy to overcast skies with rain showers are expected over Eastern Luzon, specifically in the provinces of Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region.

The remaining parts of Luzon, meanwhile, will have generally fair weather with low chances of rain.

No gale warning is currently raised in any parts of the country’s seaboards or in-land seas, but moderate to rough seas should be expected in the eastern part of the country, with wave heights possibly reaching up to 2.8 meters.

Pagasa said the temperature range in key cities/areas across the country for Sunday will be:
