MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has renamed its complaints desk from Presidential Complaints Action Office (PCAO) to Presidential Action Center (PACe).

The change in the name was authorized under Executive Order (EO) No. 15, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on February 8. A copy of the EO was released to the media on Friday.

The PCAO was established in the Office of the President (OP) via EO No. 442 to serve as the command center and liaison unit of the OP with various agencies on all requests for assistance and complaints from the general public.

Under EO No. 15, PCAO was renamed PACe but another order (EO No. 9) renamed PACe as the Presidential Complaint Center (PCC).

The PCC was then placed under the direct control and supervision of the Strategic Action and Response (STAR) Office under the Office of the Cabinet Secretary (OCS).

According to EO No. 15, PCAO needs to be renamed to PACe to make it consistent with the nature and scope of its work.

“Whereas, in addition to coordination and liaison work, the nature and scope of the work of the PCC also includes providing public assistance and social services such as addressing complaints against government processes and various requests for assistance,” it reads.

“There is a need to rename the PCC to ensure that its name is consistent with the nature and scope of its work,” it also states.
