Health workers at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) handling COVID-19 cases will soon receive another round of their mandated pandemic benefits. In a Feb. 7 order, the Department of Health approved the release of P62.4 million in health emergency allowance funds to the country’s main referral hub for COVID-19 for its personnel involved in the COVID response from August to September 2022. The amount is on top of the P32.5 million earlier endorsed for disbursement to PGH health workers for rendering hospital work in July last year. —Kathleen de Villa
