Celebrate love: LRT-1 unveils art and surprises for Valentine’s Day

The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) on Thursday announced that it will observe Valentine’s Day with week-long activities at the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) Central Station in Manila.

MANILA, Philippines —Romance is in the air as the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) has announced a weeklong Valentine’s Day celebration at the LRT-1 Central Station in Manila.

On February 13th, the “heART” installation will be unveiled, featuring a stunning array of red and pink flowers as the perfect backdrop for couples, groups, and individuals to take selfies in front of. The exhibition will be available until February 28th.

The installation, said LRMC, will feature a “Straight from the Heart” corner where passengers can confess their admiration to their special someone or simply express their feelings by writing a message on the dedicated wall.

An art display titled “LOVE through the eyes of children” featuring artworks made by Grades 1 to 6 students will also be opened at the Marcela Marcelo Elementary School (MMES) in Malibay, Pasay City.

Meanwhile, on Feb. 14, a bazaar will be held at the LRT-1 Central Station (ground floor parking area) where LRMC employees will sell gift and food items that passengers can buy at affordable prices.

Fun surprises are also promised for lucky LRT-1 passengers on February 13 and 14.

Meanwhile, LRT-1 also announced the launch of the country’s first smart locker system, PopBox, on Feb. 15.

The smart lockers will be located in all LRT-1 stations to offer contactless delivery service for the benefit of commuters who wish to use LRT-1 stations as their pick-up point for packages.
