Mark Villar lauds Marcos’ meeting with electronics firms in Japan

MANILA, Philippines — Senator Mark Villar on Thursday commended President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who met with Japanese businessmen handling semiconductors, electronics, and wiring harnesses in Tokyo.

“This is a good start for our visit here in Japan. We met with companies involved in industries where a majority of the workforce are Filipinos. President BBM received their commitment to continue hiring and prioritizing Filipinos to work for their companies here in Japan and also in the Philippines,” said Villar, who is part of Marcos’ delegation to his five-day official visit to Japan.

Villar is part of the Philippine delegation in his capacity as chairman of the Senate committee on trade, commerce, and entrepreneurship.

“President Bongbong Marcos explained the importance of the industries in relation to job generation for the country. He emphasized that we value our cooperation with the Japanese businessmen and would always treat them as close friends” he said.

Marcos, Villar, and the rest of the Philippine delegation will be in Japan until February 12 to attend meetings and meet with the Filipino community in Tokyo.
