MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) issued an advisory to assist overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) affected by the recent earthquake in Turkey.

The DMW advisory, issued late Wednesday, directed all licensed manning agencies (LMAs) and private recruitment agencies (PRAS) to continuously monitor the situation of OFWs and provide any assistance required.

DMW advises LMAs and PRAs to cooperate with the Migrant Workers’ Office in Lebanon and submit reports immediately.

In the aftermath of the massive earthquake, two Filipinos were reportedly injured in Turkey.

Any form of humanitarian aid for OFWs, the DMW said, will be “deeply appreciated.”

On February 6, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake jolted Turkey and Syria.

The earthquake death toll in Turkey and Syria has reached 15,000.
