Overcast skies, rains in parts of Luzon on Thursday due to amihan — Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — Parts of Luzon are expected to have overcast skies and rainfall on Thursday due to the effects of the northeast monsoon or amihan, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
“Dahil sa epekto ng northeast monsoon, mas magiging maulan dito sa may silangang bahagi ng Luzon,” Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres said in a public weather forecast.
(Due to the effects of the northeast monsoon, it will be more rainy in the eastern parts of Luzon.)
According to Pagasa’s latest weather advisory, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon are set to experience cloudy to cloudy skies with rains.
On the other hand, Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

“Dito naman sa nalalabing bahagi ng Visayas also sa may Mindanao, magandang panahon din naman ang inaasahan natin. Dito sa Mindanao area mas mataas ang tiyansa ng thunderstorm activity sa may hapon,” she added.
(Here in the rest of Visayas and Mindanao, we expect fair weather, but in the Mindanao area, there are higher chances of thunderstorm activity in the afternoon.)
Meanwhile, Pagasa did not raise gale warning in any seaboards nationwide.
