MANILA, Philippines — The spirit of “Pinoy Pride” seems to be alive and well as an impressive 99 percent of respondents declared that they remain “proud” to be Filipino, according to a survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

“Pride in being a Filipino remains high,” the SWS said in its annual survey review published on Tuesday.

The SWS asked the respondents: “Gaano ninyo ipinagmamalaki ang pagiging Pilipino? (How proud are you of being a Filipino?)”

In response, 91 percent of the respondents said they are “very proud,” while eight percent said they are “quite proud” to be Filipino.

Only one percent said they are “not very proud” or “not proud at all” of their nationality.

The SWS conducted its latest survey on December 10-14, 2022 with 1,200 adult respondents.
