President Marcos has appointed Vicente Homer Revil as acting administrator of the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA), Malacañang announced on Tuesday. A lawyer and former Masbate vice governor, Revil will also serve as a member of the agency’s board of trustees, according to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO). Mr. Marcos also designated lawyer Jovy Bernabe as an acting member of the LWUA board of trustees, the PCO said. Bernabe previously served as deputy director of the National Agricultural and Fishery Council and as board secretary of the Sugar Regulatory Administration. He and Revil were appointed on Feb. 6. In October, LWUA officer in charge Eileen dela Vega told a Senate hearing that the absence of a full-fledged LWUA administrator was one of the reasons for the delay in restoring water supply in war-torn Marawi City.
