MANILA, Philippines—Senator Gregorio Honasan said “organized hypocrisy” in the country was getting in the way of the nation’s economic progress.
Honasan did not name names but said those behind this “organized hypocrisy” were individuals and groups who had appointed themselves as “guardians of our morality.”
“Organized hypocrisy that’s prevalent in Philippine society is getting in the way of our moving forward economically,” he said.
Asked to name specific individuals or groups, Honasan refused, saying, “I will not draw the ire.”
He added that these “hypocrites “all of a sudden have (become)…experts on the law, on the impeachment trial,” referring to the impeachment trial of Chief Justice
