LUCENA CITY — Two men were shot dead Monday by a motorcycle-riding gunman in Lemery town in Batangas province.
Batangas police reported Tuesday, Feb. 7, that Frederick Casalme, 46, alighted at 9:10 p.m. from his Mitsubishi Pajero driven by his nephew, Kingjay Sangalang, 32, to open the gate of his house in Barangay Mayasang.
Suddenly, an unidentified assailant armed with a handgun appeared and repeatedly shot Casalme and Sangalang. After the shooting, the gunman fled aboard a motorcycle driven by his cohort.
Casalme died on the spot from fatal gunshot wounds, while Sangalang expired on the way to a hospital.
The police are investigating the incident to establish the motive behind the killing and unmask the perpetrators.
