DAVAO CITY–The Davao Police Regional Office has announced that the driver responsible for the death of a 21-year-old working student in a hit-and-run incident on January 26, here has surrendered to authorities.
The surrender comes after former President Rodrigo Duterte offered P500,000 cash reward to find the driver who escaped after the incident.
Jester Yucosing, 40, gave himself up to the Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) of the city police on Tuesday after he was tagged as behind the death of Ana Mae Talili, who died when the vehicle Yucosing was driving allegedly hit the motorcycle she was riding on.
The accident happened along McArthur Highway in Davao.
The report added that the vehicle driven by Yucosing belongs to Vice Mayor John Paul Lampig of Boston, Davao Oriental.
Lampig first accompanied Yucosing to the office of Police Regional Director Benjamin Silo Jr.
The driver has been placed under the TEU as the case against him is being prepared.
Yucosing’s surrender came about after former President Rodrigo Duterte made public his offer to give a P500,000 cash reward for those who could provide information that will result in the arrest of the driver of the vehicle that killed the lady.
