MANILA, Philippines — The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) on Wednesday appealed to law enforcers to hasten the investigation of the attempt on the life of the group’s chapter president, Hamilcar Bigornia.
Bigornia and one of his aides were injured after they were stabbed by one of the suspects who assaulted them at the lawyer’s office on Jan. 29.
The attacker was shot dead by another aide of Bigornia, while the other suspect was arrested by authorities.
The attempt on the life of Bigornia is an addition to the growing list of attacks and killings of lawyers and judges in the country, the IBP said in a statement.
