MANILA, Philippines — Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar is pushing for a P5,000 one-time cash aid to new graduates of tertiary institutions, colleges, universities, and training institutions while they are looking for work.

House Bill No. 6542 will complement Republic Act No. 11261, or the “First Time Job Seekers Assistance Act,” which exempts first-time jobseekers from paying fees for documents needed for employment.

“This bill seeks to compliment and help fresh graduates by giving them a one-time cash grant in the amount of P5,000, which they can use as productivity/earnest fund, which they can use during application for employment, transportation and settling-in amount, if they get a job soonest,” the bill read.
