AFP chief Dellosa earns 4th star, promoted to General
MANILA, Philippines—After almost four months as Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Jessie Dellosa finally earned his fourth-star and was promoted to a rank of General.
“The additional stars on my shoulders come with greater responsibility on my part. I am truly honored by this promotion, and I feel indebted to the people whom I will continue to serve faithfully. Likewise, I am expecting more great things from our newly promoted officers. Rest assured that with this promotion, we will continue performing our responsibilities more efficiently and effectively as protector of the people and vanguards of our nation’s territory,” he said in a statement.
Dellosa was designated as military chief December 11, 2011. He was previously the commander of Northern Luzon Command.
Meanwhile, military spokesman Colonel Arnulfo Marcelo Burgos said Air Force Commanding General Major General Lauro Catalino Dela Cruz was also promoted to Lieutenant General.
The new Major Generals were MGen Joel Ibañez, Commander of the Training and Doctrines Command, Philippine Army; MGen Romulo Cabantac, the Chief Engineer, AFP; and MGen Edgardo Rene Samonte, Commander of 15th Strike Wing, Philippine Air Force.
