MANILA, Philippines — Ponciano Bernardo High School in Cubao had to cancel classes on Thursday after a bomb threat.
The threat was the latest in a series of bomb threats made on schools in Quezon City this week.
At 12:57 a.m., a threat was posted to the school’s official Facebook page, according to a complaint from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD). The sender identified himself as Bob Key Ser Panganiban.
“May tinanim ako na bomba sa elementary, sasama tayong mauubos (I planted a bomb in the elementary [building], it will wipe us out together),” it read.
A teacher who had seen the message first relayed it to his supervisor, who informed the school principal.
The school head inspected the campus before they informed authorities about the incident, according to police.
The QCPD public information office said an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) unit conducted a search and found no explosives in the school.
Before this, two other bomb scares rattled the New Era Elementary School and San Francisco High School in Quezon City earlier this week.
