MANILA, Philippines—A 63-year-old woman died when a motorboat capsized in Lake Mainit, Agusan del Norte Tuesday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Wednesday.
Another female, Susan Janle Beldisima, was injured and brought to the hospital while two more, Antonette Sebian, 36, and Kris Antony Olimpus, 10, were missing, it said.
Melucina Mahilum, the lone fatality in the maritime accident, drowned.
According to the NDRRMC report, the boat was carrying 28 local tourists from the Casili Lakeside Resort in Mainit, Surigao del Norte when it capsized at around 4:30pm Tuesday.
All other passenger were rescued safely. The cause of the incident was still under investigation, the NDRRMC said.
