ANGELES CITY — The 117 contract of service employees at the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC) in this city would start receiving higher salaries next month, the city government announced on Monday, Jan. 23.

Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. issued a memorandum to the Local Finance Committee and the RLMMC human resources office on Monday about the salary increases, the city government said.

From P14,000 per month, the four contract of service midwives at the city government hospital will receive P20,000 beginning Feb. 1.

At least 105 nursing attendants will get a P2,000 salary increase, while the eight radiologic technologists will get P4,000 raise in their monthly salaries.

The city government said the salary hike was Lazatin’s way of showing appreciation for the medical workers’ hard work during the pandemic.

It said RLMMC, formerly known as the Ospital Ning Angeles, “has been the battleground of the city in fighting COVID-19.” INQ
