A 37-YEAR-OLD motorist was injured in a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of the South Road Properties (SRP) in barangay Mambaling, Cebu City last night.
The smashup at 6:05 p.m tied up SRP traffic for almost two hours.
Manuel Rogero fractured his back. Paramedics rescued Rogero who was pinned under his gray Honda Civic sedan, which was a total wreck.
Rogero was heading to Cebu City when a red prime mover towing a trailer hit the left part of the car, dragging it to the other lane and causing it to smash into an oncoming van of Nature Fresh Water Co.
The prime mover owned by Alex Transport Co. was driven by 33-year-old Jerson Tolo. Both drivers were unharmed.
Tolo is detained at the Cebu City Traffic Group in N. Bacalso Avenue.
Tolo said he was driving the prime mover at low speed but 10-meter skid marks showed otherwise, said traffic investigator SPO4 Ramon Breman Budiongan.
“Nikalit ra ug gawas (ang Honda Civic),” Tolo told investigators. (The Honda Civic just suddenly appeared.)
Tolo faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property and physical injury. Correspondent Rhea Ruth V. Rosell
