MANILA, Philippines — The eastern parts of Luzon can expect a cloudy and rainy weekend due to the shear line and the northeast monsoon, state meteorologists said Friday.

Weather updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) for Friday afternoon located the shear line northeast of the Camarines provinces in the Bicol region.

Meanwhile, the rest of Luzon would still feel the effects of the northeast monsoon or amihan, with the Cagayan Valley and Aurora experiencing rain and colder weather from Friday to the weekend.

On the other hand, most of the Visayas and Mindanao can expect fair weather.

Pagasa expects no low-pressure area or tropical cyclone to enter the Philippine area of responsibility in the next three days.

Pagasa also raised a gale warning over the entire seaboard of the Ilocos provinces, the western waters of Aurora, northern Quezon, Camarines Norte, the northern waters of Camarines Sur, the eastern waters of Albay and Sorsogon, Catanduanes, and the northern and eastern coasts of Northern Samar.

Small boats are reminded not to sail in these areas as sea conditions range from rough to very rough, with waves reaching heights of 2.8 meters to 4.5 meters.
