GLOBAL Business Power Corp., through its subsidiary Cebu Energy Development Corp. (CEDC) and Toledo Power Company (TPC), raised 6,000 seedlings in an hour.

Last March 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., 130 employees of CEDC and TPC volunteered and trooped to the company’s Kabilin Nursery in Toledo City for the potting of 6,000 acacia tree seedlings, twice their target of 3,000 seedlings.

The activity was headed by Global Power vice president for Toledo operations Leah Diaz, CEDC plant manager Matt Mancira and TPC plant manager Jose Contento.

It was done in solidarity with the ideals of Earth Hour 2012 and in accordance with Global Power’s core values— “Care for the Environment” — under the Kabilin program.

Global Power embarks on several corporate social responsibility projects focusing on health, education, environment and livelihood, among others.
