Mark Villar: Experts at Davos meet gave PH ‘good’ inputs for tapping Maharlika fund’s potential
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines received “good” advice from experts regarding the proposed Maharlika Investment Fund (MIF) during President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s trip to Davos, Switzerland.
Senator Mark Villar revealed this Thursday, describing the inputs as “very useful.”
“We were able to get some good inputs from experts, stakeholders, and international counterparts in relation to the Maharlika Fund. This is very useful, especially in our role to tackle it in the Senate,” Villar said in a statement Thursday. Villar was part of the Philippine delegation to this year’s World Economic Forum in Davos where Marcos presented the MIF’s key points.
The creation of MIF is one of the Senate’s top legislative agendas this year.
Villar praised Marcos’ participation in the WEF. He also claimed the “trip brought more investment and jobs for the country.”
“Overall, it was a very successful trip for the Philippines. We were able to meet various companies that can boost our economic recovery and provide jobs to the Filipino people,” he said.
Marcos arrived in Switzerland on January 16 and will return to the Philippines on January 20.
