Cavite-SLEx link road can save you 30 mins
The government and Ayala Corp. on Tuesday formally signed the concession agreement on the Daang Hari-Southern Luzon Expressway (SLEx) Link Road which would cut travel time by as much as half an hour.
The agreement for the construction, operation and maintenance of the four-kilometer link road—the very first public-private partnership project successfully auctioned by the Aquino administration—was signed by Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson and Ayala Corp. chair Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala.
According to Singson, the link road would reduce travel time between Daang Hari in Cavite province and SLEx by around 10 to 30 minutes.
“With the opening of the DH-SLEx connection road, you would be able avoid the (Alabang Town Center) and the Filinvest mall if you are not going to these places,” he said.
“You go straight to SLEx through Susana Heights and that means you will significantly cut travel time. Of course, you also open up new areas [on] the Daang Hari stretch that goes all the way to the Aguinaldo highway … so that area of Cavite will open up,” he added.
Singson said construction was expected to start next month with the expressway expected to be fully operational on or before November 2013.
Upon its completion, the project is expected to provide relief to motorists using the congested Alabang-Zapote Road and help boost development in Cavite province.
“This is important. Cavite forms a vital part of the country’s investment corridor. Its proximity to Metro Manila brought large residential and commercial developments to the province,” Ayala said.
The Ayala conglomerate will build the link road in partnership with Getinsa Ingineieria, a Spanish engineering company.
