MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed new government officials.

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Tuesday said Marcos has appointed Romulo Victoria Arugay as chair of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO), an agency under the Office of the President.

The CFO which was created in June 1980 is mandated to “promote and uphold the interests, rights and welfare of overseas Filipinos and strengthen their ties with the Motherland.”

The president also appointed Mario Imperial Molina as acting member of the board of trustees of the Government Service Insurance System and Joan Masilang Padilla as administrator of the Intramuros Administration, which is under the Department of Tourism.
