After falling in his bid for the University of the Philippines’ (UP) highest post, incumbent UP Diliman chancellor Fidel Nemenzo will seek a second term as the state university opened calls for applications to head its flagship campus. In a statement, Nemenzo said he “remain(s) committed to serving the university and community that I love, and will welcome the opportunity and challenge to continue the work as chancellor of UP Diliman.” His announcement comes as the UP Office of the President ordered the commencement of the search process for the next chancellor of UP Diliman. Nemenzo’s term is set to end on March 1. The last day to submit nominations will be on Feb. 10, while the Board of Regents is set to name the next chancellor on March 30.
