(There is a slim chance that the LPA willbecome a tropical cyclone within 48 hours, and according to our latest analysis, its movements will change and move slowly. It may move closer to Visayas in the following days. Despite the low chances of it becoming a tropical cyclone, it will continue to bring rain to parts of  Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao).

“Amihan” effect

Meanwhile, Pagasa said that the northeast monsoon or “amihan” is also expected to cause cloudy skies and rain over Metro Manila, Aurora, Nueva Ecija and Bulacan.

Areas affected by rain are warned by Pagasa of possible floods and landslides.

Pagasa has  raise a gale warning over the following areas: eastern coast of Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, northern Quezon (including the northern and eastern coasts of Polillo Islands), Camarines Norte, northern coast of Camarines Sur, northern and eastern coasts of Catanduanes, eastern coast of Albay, eastern coast of Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, the eastern coast of Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, and the eastern coast of Surigao del Norte, including Siargao and Bucas Grande Islands.
