MANILA, Philippines — After two years of limitations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the country is now gearing up for a full-force Sinulog Festival this 2023, and motorcycle ride-hailing service Angkas has been officially designated as the event’s transportation partner.
Perhaps one of the oldest and most prolific events that showcase Philippine culture and creativity, the Sinulog Festival celebrates the arrival of the Santo Niño de Cebu statue into the hands of Rajah Humabon and his consort Queen Juana.
Upon receiving the baby Jesus statue, the tale goes that Queen Juana bursts into a gleeful dance. With her people following suit, the first Sinulog dance took place.
As the event’s official transportation partner, Angkas will provide free rides to festival goers on January 15th, making for a hassle-free trip experience.
From January 13 to 15, Angkas is also Co-presenter for the Sinulog Music Festival, held at South Road Properties (SRP).
In celebration of the beauty to behold during the Festival Queen Pageant Night on January 13, Angkas will be awarding the title of “Miss Angkas.”
Festival attendees on January 15, may book a free ride to the Sinulog Parade and SRP Festival grounds to catch the Angkas float amidst the awe-inspiring parade procession.
Committed to adding value to the Filipino people beyond safe, convenient transportation services and uplifting the lives of millions through its involvement with the Sinulog festivities, Angkas aims to enrich the people’s experience of this rich cultural tradition.
