LUCENA CITY — Police arrested five alleged drug traffickers and seized more than P1.1 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in buy-bust operations on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 12 and 13 in Biñan City, Laguna province.
Members of the local drug enforcement unit collared around 10 p.m. on Thursday Beverly Bedoya and Reynaldo Placios in Barangay Malaban.
Seized from the suspects were 26 sachets of shabu weighing 165 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P1,072,500.
Police were conducting further investigation to determine the source of the illegal drugs.
The same police team also busted at 1:40 a.m. Friday Raymond Bukalan and Cristina Espeleta in another part of the village.
Six sachets of meth with a DDB value of P71,500 were seized from the duo.
Two hours later, the anti-illegal drugs operatives nabbed at 3:40 a.m. Cynthia Eusebio in Barangay Sto. Tomas.
Eusebio was caught in possession of P33,800 worth of shabu.
Bedoya and Bukalan were on the drug watch list as high-value targets in the local drug war.
The three other suspects were street-level drug pushers.
Police said the suspects were detained and charged of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
