Zamboanga City airport closed due to flood

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Bad weather on Wednesday led to the cancelation of flights in this city.

“Runway is closed to fixed-wing aircraft due to flood, so, no commercial flights today,” Jimmy Santos, manager of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines here, told the Inquirer.

He added that commercial flights into the city were diverted to Cagayan de Oro and Davao cities after two flights safely landed this morning, Cebu Pacific’s 5J517 from Davao and Philippine Airlines’ PR2993 from Manila.

An Air Asia flight from Manila, Z2651, diverted to Davao, he added.
