MANILA, Philippines — Airport officials announced the cancellation of several flights on Wednesday due to inclement weather caused by the shear line, low-pressure area (LPA) and northeast monsoon.
In an advisory, the Manila International Airport Authority said the following flights had been called off:
PAL Express (2P)
- 2P 2994 Zamboanga-Manila
- 2P 2997/2998 Manila-Zamboanga-Manila
Cebu Pacific (5J)
- 5J 852 Zamboanga-Manila
- 5J 853/854 Manila-Zamboanga-Manila
- 5J 855/856 Manila-Zamboanga-Manila
- 5J 859/860 Manila-Zamboanga-Manila

Classes in several areas across the country have also been suspended by their respective local governments due to bad weather.

The state weather bureau earlier said overcast skies and scattered rain showers are expected in Visayas, Mindanao and the Bicol Region throughout the day due to the LPA and the shear line.

The northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” will bring rain over the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque and Occidental Mindoro.
