MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — At least 3,179 police officers in Central Luzon were promoted during the simultaneous pinning and donning of ranks ceremony Tuesday at the police camps in the region.

In a statement, the Police Regional Office 3 said PRO3 director Brigadier General Cesar Pasiwen administered the oath-taking of 115 of the 3,179 newly promoted police officers at Camp Julian Olivas in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

Pasiwen advised the officers to work harder in carrying out their duties or engage in illegal activities.

“Maglingkod kayo ng tapat sa sambayanang Pilipino (Serve the Filipino people honestly,” he added.

Pasiwen is among the police officials in Central Luzon to file resignations in compliance with the earlier request of Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr. for all police colonels and generals to tender their courtesy resignations as part of the Marcos administration’s strategy against illegal drugs.

The PRO3 has more than 12,700 police officers in the seven provinces and two highly urbanized cities in Central Luzon. INQ
