DOH records 642 health consultations during Nazareno 2023

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday said it recorded 642 health consultations during the celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene or the Nazareno 2023, from Jan. 6 to 9.

According to the DOH, in an advisory, four consultations were hospitalized, of which three are now currently discharged, while one is still under observation.

“The DOH, in light of ‘Traslacion 2023,’ is implementing active monitoring of the event situation. In addition, Health operating units are on standby for any situation that may arise,” said the DOH.

Based on the data provided by the DOH, the majority, or 577, of the consultations were cardio-related, 43 were trauma-related, ten were neurological-related, eight were respiratory-related, and only four were gastro-related.

Meanwhile, the latest numbers from the Quiapo Church Operation Center said that 246,250 devotees had been recorded at the Quiapo Church as of 1:00 p.m. on Monday, while 122,160 total devotees visited the Quirino Grandstand during the same period.

Ten devotees were also reported to have suffered from medical problems, two of which from fainting, three from wound laceration, puncture or abrasion, while five were from hypertension.
