Over P2.6M ‘meth’ seized from 2 suspects in Cavite

LUCENA CITY — Police arrested on Sunday two drug suspects and seized more than P2.6 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in General Trias City in Cavite province.

In a report, the Region 4A police identified the suspects as Lovelyn Luayon and Aljohn Tongol.

The report said Kawit town police conducting a hot-pursuit operation in a robbery discovered at 8:20 p.m. the drug haul in a house in a subdivision in Barangay Navarro.

The report said Police Staff Sergeant Jeztoni Pagaran and Patrolman Ronnel Roco spotted the illegal drugs on top of the table, which led to the arrest of the suspects.

Authorities seized 44 sachets of meth weighing 393.95 grams with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of about P2,678,860.

The illegal drugs were valued at P8,036,580 in the street market at P20,400 per gram.

Police also seized seven mobile phones; shabu-sniffing paraphernalia such as seven glass pipes/tubes, lighters; a magazine for a .45 pistol and four bullets for a .454 revolver from the suspects.

Authorities were tracking the source of the drugs.

The suspects were detained and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and illegal possession of ammunition. INQ
