Over 100,000 devotees attend Feast of Black Nazarene in Quiapo Church
MANILA, Philippines — An estimated total of 103,277 devotees have so far flocked to Quiapo Church for the celebration of the Feast of Black Nazarene, or Nazareno 2023 for short, said the Quiapo Church Command Post on Sunday.
The said number reflects the church command post’s crowd estimate from 12 midnight to 11:00 a.m.
Meanwhile, an estimated total of 37,665 devotees went to the Quirino Grandstand, where the Banal na Misa (Holy Mass) and the Fiesta Mass will be held.
It can be recalled that an estimated number of 88,000 devotees joined the Nazareno procession called Walk of Faith on Sunday morning — which stretched from the Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church.

The said procession only lasted more than two hours, beginning at 1:30 a.m. until around 4:00 a.m.

Article continues after this advertisementHourly masses are being held at the Quiapo Church, but devotees will only be allowed to venerate and touch the image of the Black Nazarene (Pagpupugay) instead of the traditional “pahalik.”
Manila Police District Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon previously stated that around five million devotees are expected to participate in the Nazareno’s activities.
