LUCENA CITY – Six drug suspects yielded more than P2.6 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) in police buy-bust operations in Cavite, Rizal, and Batangas provinces on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 6 and 7).
The Region 4A police said in a report Saturday that anti-narcotics operatives in Dasmariñas City, Cavite collared Dionisio Ibañez in Barangay (village) H-2 around 11:55 p.m. on Friday.
Authorities seized one knot-tied plastic bag containing shabu weighing 100 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P680,000.
The confiscated meth is worth P2,040,000 in the street market at the prevailing price of P20,400 per gram.
In Rodriguez, Rizal, policemen busted Sky Daculas, Richard Cajote, and Ednalyn Eugenio in a sting operation in Barangay San Isidro around 2 a.m. Saturday.
The operatives seized from the suspects 10 sachets of shabu weighing 20 grams with a DDB value of P136,000 and worth P408,000 in the streets.
Meanwhile, members of the police drug enforcement unit in Batangas City arrested Reynaldo Andal and Rommel Casilag in Barangay Bolbok around 9:35 p.m. on Friday.
The duo was found in possession of 10 grams of shabu worth P204,000 in the street market.
The police are tracking the source of shabu being peddled by the arrested suspects.
The report tagged Ibañez, Andal, and Casilag as “HVI” or high-value individuals in the local drug scene, while Daculas, Cajote, and Eugenio were identified as street-level drug pushers in the locality.
The suspects were detained and are facing charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
