MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) commended a police officer who returned the misplaced wallet of a former member of the Philippine Marines.
According to the PNP, Police Lieutenant Colonel Brigido T. Salisi was walking on the sidewalk of Lawton Avenue, Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City last Thursday morning when he found the wallet.
“Wallet contained several identification cards and ₱3,000.00 cash. The owner was identified as Elmer Adlaon Cadelina, a retired member of the Philippine Marines,” said the PNP in a statement.
The wallet was found at 7:15 a.m and was returned to Cadelina by around 9:00 a.m. the same day, according to the PNP.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Arlene G. Castor turned over the wallet to Cadelina’s cousin, Jerry Adlaon Buhian.
“This simple act of honesty displays the high respect of law enforcers to other members of the uniformed service,” said the PNP.
