Two winning lotto tickets, one ticket owner.
The P36.4-million jackpot in the March 30 6/45 MegaLotto draw went to a tricycle operator from Pasay City who bought two tickets with the same winning combination, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) disclosed on Monday.
The 41-year-old man, who had been placing bets on the state lottery for a decade, claimed his winnings on Monday, PCSO general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II told reporters.
Rojas said the instant multi-millionaire bought two tickets that had the lucky six-number combination—03-06-07-13-21-40—which he picked under the System 8 betting scheme, wherein up to eight numbers can be selected to raise the odds of winning.
According to the PCSO official, the winner has been betting on the same combination since he started playing lotto 10 years ago. He spent P1,680 for the tickets in Thursday’s draw.
The winner, a father of four, planned to use a portion of his winnings to recover a property foreclosed by the bank and to find the best medical treatment for his ailing father, Rojas said.
