DICT’s Lamentillo tops government spokesperson survey
MANILA, Philippines —Undersecretary Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo, a spokesperson for the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), has been ranked first in a survey of government agency spokespersons. .
Lamentillo, DICT’s Undersecretary for Public Affairs and Foreign Relations, received a rating of 88%, followed by Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil (86%), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Margarita Gutierrez (84%), Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Undersecretary Goddess Hope Libiran (83%), and Department of Health (DOH) OIC-Undersecretary Beverly Ho (82%).
Completing the Top 10 are Department of Justice (DOJ) Assistant Secretary Mico Clavano (80%), Department of Education (DepEd) Spokesperson Atty. Mike Poa (78%), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) OIC Edu Punay (75%), Department of Agriculture (DA) Assistant Secretary Kristine Evangelista (73%), and Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Undersecretary Patricia Caunan (70%).
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Vice President Sara Duterte, and Cabinet members earned outstanding evaluations for their overall job performance in the RP Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD) “Boses ng Bayan” national survey for the year 2022. It confirms that their spokespeople effectively communicated government goals, initiatives, and policies, said Dr. Paul Martinez of RPMD.
The OPS convened a meeting in December of communications representatives from several government agencies and departments to better coordinate government communication plans for more efficiently disseminating information to the Filipino people.
