LUCENA CITY — A baby boy, with his umbilical cord attached, was found abandoned Monday at the public cemetery in Guinyangan town in Quezon province.

A police report on Tuesday said a resident found the infant around 3:20 p.m. inside a sack in a corner of the cemetery in Barangay Calimpak.

The infant was taken to Guinayangan Community Medicare for medical attention.

The police are reviewing security camera footage in the area to identify persons behind the dumping of the infant.

The baby was turned over to local social welfare officials for disposition.

In San Pedro City, Laguna, a grave keeper also found on Monday afternoon a dead fetus inside a box wrapped in a garbage bag in front of the cemetery in Barangay San Antonio, the Region 4A police reported Tuesday.
