CEBU CITY – A five-year-old boy went missing while at 23 passengers e were rescued after a motorbanca capsized off the coast of San Fernando, Cebu Sunday evening.
The Philippine Coast Guard in Central Visayas (PCG-7) on Monday said search and rescue operation was immediately launched to locate the boy.
The rescue operations were suspended past midnight due to “unfavorable sea conditions and poor visibility.”
The unidentified motorbanca left Barangay Sangat in San Fernando for Calape, Bohol with 24 passengers.
All of the passengers on board the motorbanca were rescued except for the boy.
According to the San Fernando municipal disaster management office, the passengers were headed to Bohol to attend a family gathering.
The search and rescue operations resumed early Monday morning.
