MANILA, Philippines – The seven-day COVID-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila decreased from 11.6 to 9.1 percent in the last week of 2022, the Octa Research Group said on Monday.
In a Twitter post, OCTA Research fellow Guido David noted that Bulacan’s positivity rate also dipped below five percent.
He added that a decrease in the positivity rates in these 18 areas across Luzon was likewise recorded.
- Albay – 35.4 to 31.3 percent
- Batangas – 10.6 to 7.8 percent
- Cagayan – 14.3 to 8.5 percent
- Camarines Sur – 27.3 to 16.6 percent
- Cavite – 10.6 to 8.6 percent
- Ilocos Norte – 8.8 to 5.6 percent
- Ilocos Sur – 44.8 to 25.4 percent
- Kalinga – 41.7 to 9.1 percent
- La Union — 9.7 to 8.1 percent
- Laguna – 19 to 10.5 percent
- Mountain Province – 7.8 to 7.3 percent
- Nueva Ecija – 34.8 to 28 percent
- Pampanga – 16.6 to 12.3 percent
- Pangasinan – 11.6 to 7.2 percent
- Quezon – 15.4 to 14.2 percent
- Rizal – 23.4 to 15.8 percent
- Tarlac – 15 to 10.4 percent
- Zambales 11.7 to 6.9 percent
Meanwhile, David pointed out that there was an increase in the positivity rates logged in Isabela, from 21.2 to 37.6 percent; Bataan, from 12.8 to 13.7 percent; Benguet, from 8.2 to 9 percent.
On New Year’s Day, the Department of Health reported 464 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the total number of active cases across the country to 13,061.
Twelve new COVID-19 deaths were recorded on Sunday, including two in Metro Manila.
