MANILA, Philippines — The New Year’s Eve fire that struck a building along Yakal Street in Tondo, Manila has reached the second alarm, the Sampaloc Fire District said Saturday night.
The Sampaloc Fire District told INQUIRER.net in a phone interview that the fire started at 10:00 p.m. of New Year’s Eve, and was immediately raised to the second alarm at 10:09 p.m.
Authorities said the fire is still ongoing as of this story’s posting. It is also unclear if the affected building is a residential area or a commercial establishment.
