New COVID-19 cases still high in 2 Central Luzon provinces 

The provinces of Bulacan and Pampanga remained the only two areas in Central Luzon that were on the list of places in the country that registered the most number of COVID-19 cases as of Thursday (Dec. 29), according to independent pandemic monitor OCTA Research.

OLONGAPO CITY–The provinces of Bulacan and Pampanga remained the only two areas in Central Luzon that were on the list of places in the country that registered the most number of COVID-19 cases as of Thursday (Dec. 29), according to independent pandemic monitor OCTA Research.

Bulacan posted 16 new COVID-19 cases, making it the sixth among the 15 areas on the list, while Pampanga registered 12 more cases and ranked eight.

The list was still topped by the National Capital Region, with 239 new infections.

Previously, Nueva Ecija and Bataan were included in the list, but the two provinces had registered fewer new COVID-19 cases in recent days.

In Zambales province, no new COVID-19 cases were tallied as of Friday. Its active infections stood at 13. INQ
