MANILA, Philippines — Over 8,000 Makati City local government unit (LGU) employees will receive up to P20,000 in incentives following the passing of a city ordinance on the said allocation, the city government announced on Thursday.
“Over 8,000 Makati City Hall employees will receive up to P20,000 as Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) after the local city council approved ordinances for its immediate funding. City Ordinance No. 2022-A-168, passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Makati last week, authorizes the allocation of P163,998,000.00 for the SRI,” the LGU said in a statement.
According to Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, 3,434 regular, 4,695 casual, and 17 contractual employees will receive the SRI.
On the other hand, 2,259 job order employees will receive P5,000 and rice assistance.
“I would like to extend my gratitude to our city council for quickly granting the release of the additional incentive for our city employees. I hope this incentive will inspire our employees to continue to work hard in the service of our Proud Makatizens,” Binay said.
According to the Makati LGU, employees who have served for less than four months are entitled to pro-rated shares:
- At least three months: 40 percent of SRI
- At least two months: 30 percent of SRI
- At least one month: 20 percent of SRI
- Less than one month: 10 percent of SRI
President Ferdinand Marcos earlier signed an administrative order that authorized the “one-time” incentive for the Fiscal Year 2022 for qualifying government employees.
