MANILA, Philippines — Some P50-million worth of undeclared and misdeclared products were confiscated at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone and Subic Bay International Terminal Corporation, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Wednesday.
The PCG said authorities confiscated the 48 container vans carrying the products on separate operations on December 15, 19, 20, and 21.
The following goods were discovered in said inspections: frozen pork, beef, fish, and squid; red and white onions; carrot; chicken feet; canned abalone and beef; and fuel pump assembly with a lowry truck.
“According to the authorities, the estimated market value for the said undeclared /misdeclared products was P50 million,” the Coast Guard said in a statement.
The agency said the goods would be subject to seizure and detention warrants at the Porac, Pampanga condemnation area.
