Power restored in parts of Misamis Occidental
ILIGAN CITY—The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has announced the restoration of its transmission service in parts of flood-hit Misamis Occidental province, bringing back the electricity supply to residents still reeling from two days of devastating rains.
In an advisory on Wednesday morning, the NGCP said its power line was reenergized as of 6:22 p.m. on Tuesday.
Four of NGCP’s structures in Lawa-an village of Aloran town that prop up a 69-kilovolt transmission line between Panaon town and Oroquieta City were toppled on Monday as a result of heavy rains that spawned massive flooding in many parts of Misamis Occidental.
The company said the floods also led to the accumulation of debris on the base of the structures, damaging these.
“We thank the public for (their) continued patience and understanding,” the NGCP statement said.
