Robber pilfers P42T cash from store with glue gun

/ 09:35 AM April 02, 2012

WITH only a “glue gun” as a weapon, a robber managed to get away with P42,000 in cash from an agricultural supply store in MC Briones Street, Mandaue City, yesterday afternoon.

Mandaue City police said a 22-year-old cashier named Leonida Secuya was about to close the Agri-Vet supply store when the robber, clad in a full-face motorcycle helmet, entered and declared a holdup.

Police said the robber covered his “weapon” with a dress during the robbery.  Her 20-year-old co-worker Rolando Intoc was taking some personal items in the toilet at the time and was unable to help her.

Out of fear, Secuya gave the store’s earnings of P42,000 to the robber, who boarded a passenger multicab heading towards the Talamban area. Intoc later called the police.

The Investigation and Detective Management Branch (IDMB) headed by SPO1 Dionisio dela Peña pursued the suspect, who supposedly escaped by boarding one jeepney after another.

Police later found a yellow glue gun taped with a three-inch metal pipe that served as its nozzle.   The victim declined to give further details, saying she should inform her manager first about the robbery. Correspondent Norman V. Mendoza
