MANILA, Philippines — Forty eight areas across the country remain flooded due to rains triggered by the shear line, according to the latest report from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Tuesday.
Gingoog City in Misamis Oriental has also declared a state of calamity, according to the council.
According to the NDRRMC, five areas remain flooded in the Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) region, two in the Bicol region, three in Northern Mindanao and 38 in the BARMM.
Meanwhile, 12 roads in the Bicol region and three others in Northern Mindanao are still impassable.
The NDRRMC added that 19 areas in Northern Mindanao and five in the Bicol region are still without power.
A total of P5,247,313.29 worth of assistance has so far been sent or distributed b y the NDRRMC, primarily in the form of food packs and hygiene kits.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that the shear line continues to affect the Visayas and the northern portion of Mindanao, causing widespread rains.
