2 die in Oroquieta City Christmas Eve landslide

ILIGAN CITY — Two persons died in a landslide that hit Mialin village of Oroquieta City on Christmas Eve,  the Oroquieta City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) said.

Grace Mugdos, CDRRMO staff, said the bodies of Mario Sambio, 70, and Inday Calamian, 42, were brought to Oroquieta City at 5 p.m. on December 25.

Mugdos said the city’s rescue and retrieval team only reached the area at 3. p.m. on Dec. 25, Christmas day, since the access bridge to the village had collapsed.
